How much does it cost to use the Phyx platform?

Nothing! Phyx retains a small administrative fee for the features that make your work easier (i.e. scheduling, documentation, intake forms, email reminders, profile management, marketing, superbill distribution, etc).

If I join the Phyx platform, am I an employee of Phyx?

No, you work for yourself. You will be reimbursed as an independent contractor, and you will receive a Form 1099 for tax purposes. We simply are here to make the process easier.

I don't already have my own malpractice insurance. How do I get it?

We do not have an affiliation with any insurance providers, and there are multiple options out there. The APTA does provide a recommended option for members that you can find on their website. If you need further help, contact us at ask@betterwithphyx.com.

I am a mobile PT. Do I bring my own equipment/supplies to my patient visits?

Yes. Phyx is simply here as a platform to help you with the administrative tasks of running your own practice. We will not provide you with supplies to treat patients. Every Physical Therapist has their own treatment method; some may require minimal equipment, such as a manual therapist who prefers to only have a portable treatment table, while others may be more exercise-based. Whatever you need for your treatments, you will need to personally supply. Anything you purchase to use for treatments is tax deductible. For more information or for questions on the other tax-benefits of working as a 1099 independent contractor, we recommend reaching out to a professional such as an accountant.

Do I operate as a Physical Therapist on Phyx full-time or part-time?

We want you to be able to use Phyx however you want in your professional life! You could use it in any of these ways and more:

  1. Full-time: market yourself and cut initial overhead costs by using Phyx as your scheduling and documentation platform.

  2. Part-time: supplement your current part-time job with as many or as few patient visits as you need

  3. Side-gig: Use Phyx simply to make a few extra bucks here and there

  4. Summer job: Do you have one of those awesome school PT jobs where you get the summer off? Earn a little summer cash and hone your skills before the next school year. (Don't worry, you set your own hours so you can still take all those vacations and spend time with your family!)

How do I document my patient visits?

There will be a simple SOAP template when you access your patient's visit through the scheduling software that will allow you to document during the initial evaluation (has its own template) and during each subsequent visit. The best part? No insurance! No need to justify every little detail anymore, just document what is necessary for good continuity of care!

Productivity standards?

Not with Phyx! Remember, you work for yourself, so you set your own standards. You should be able to spend quality, one-on-one time with every patient, and not burn through their time excessively documenting during their visit or cut into your personal time documenting after each visit.

Can my patients buy packages?

Yes! Phyx is completely customizable to you. We will do all the administrative to set up your ideal services. You can offer packages as well as custom discount coupons for your services.

What if I want to treat in an area/state that isn't listed on the website?

If you want to use Phyx in an unlisted state or city, let us know! Phyx integrates easily into most states depending on their specific regulations. We want physical therapists and patients to reap the benefits of Phyx in all corners of the country!

What if my patient cancels last minute? Do I still get paid?

Our cancellation policy is in place to protect your time. If your patient cancels within 24 hours of the start of their appointment, you will get paid the same rate as if you treated them. If they cancel before the 24 hour requirement, that allows sufficient time for another patient to fill your slot, and the patient will receive a full refund. If you decide you want to waive the patient’s cancellation fee for a particular session, contact us to request reimbursement to your patient.

What's the catch?

There isn't one! We want to improve the quality of care each patient receives, and we want to improve the quality of your professional life. We want you to be able to make the amount of money you deserve for your time and professional skills, while providing patient care that you feel good about.
